ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, hosted a series of events to commemorate Kashmir Solidarity Day and honor the resilience of the Kashmiri people in their ongoing struggle for self-determination.
The gathering, attended by students, civil society representatives, Kashmiri leaders, and cultural enthusiasts, began with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir and the success of the freedom movement.
Local artists played a crucial role in illustrating the atrocities committed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. Through music, theatrical performances, and cultural expressions, the artists depicted the sacrifices, emotions, and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Traditional Kashmiri songs filled the venue, stirring deep emotions among the attendees.
The event featured a series of tableaus performed by schoolchildren, vividly portraying Indian military aggression and the resilience of Kashmiri families in their fight for freedom. Students also participated in speech competitions, exposing India's false claims of secularism and highlighting its oppressive policies in Kashmir.
A puppet show was presented, symbolizing the brutality faced by innocent Kashmiris, and children held placards condemning India's occupation.
The event served as a reminder that Kashmir remains central to Pakistan’s national consciousness. In connection with the observance, the PNCA organized a special photography exhibition at the National Art Gallery, showcasing powerful images documenting the lives of Kashmiris under occupation.
PNCA Director General Muhammad Ayoub Jamali reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmir’s freedom movement, condemning India’s illegal occupation and ongoing human rights violations in the region.
He urged the international community to take action in addressing these violations and emphasized the role of youth in using digital platforms to expose Indian oppression globally.
The event concluded with chants of solidarity as attendees waved the flags of Pakistan and Kashmir, reinforcing the message that Kashmiris are not alone in their struggle for self-determination.
