According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan earned $2.593 billion from exporting IT services in the first ten months of FY 2023-24, marking a significant 20.41% increase from the $2.135 billion earned in the same period last year.
Computer service exports experienced robust growth of 24.55%, reaching $2.153 billion from $1.729 billion. Software consultancy exports grew by 10.80%, and hardware consultancy exports rose by 19.24%.
Information service exports surged by 105.90%, driven primarily by news agency services, which saw a 167.58% increase.
Telecommunication service exports increased overall by 7.04%. Call center services within this category saw a notable rise of 17.59%, while other telecom services experienced a slight decrease of 1.56%.
These statistics highlight the growing importance of Pakistan’s IT sector in the global market. The significant growth across various IT service categories underscores the sector’s resilience and potential, contributing positively to the country’s economy.
