New profit rates on saving accounts, certificates announced

The Central Directorate of National Savings has revised profit rates for several investment schemes to help individuals grow their savings with greater confidence over time.

The Central Directorate of National Savings offers various investment options, including the Special Saving Certificate, Defence Savings Certificate, Regular Income Certificate, Behbood Saving Certificate, and Shuhda Family Welfare Account.

The Central Directorate of National Savings currently offers the highest profit rate of 13.20 percent on the Shuhda Family Welfare Account, Behbood Saving Certificate, and Pensioners Benefit Account. These programs specifically support widows, retirees, and families of martyrs.

The Central Directorate of National Savings has revised the rates downward, setting the Defence Savings Certificate at 11.76% and the Regular Income Certificate at 11.16%.

Islamic investment options, such as Sarwa Islamic Term and Saving Accounts, currently yield 9.75 percent, while savings accounts continue to offer a 9.50 percent return.

Investors can purchase these certificates through any National Savings Centre, authorized branches of scheduled banks, or directly from the State Bank of Pakistan.

Minors can also invest, either independently with a guardian's assistance or through joint accounts with adults or other minors. In joint investments, either one or both named holders can collect the payment.

The authorities have reduced the yield on Sarwa Islamic Term and Saving Accounts to 9.75 percent, marking a notable drop from previous rates. This revision reflects an overall decline in profit rates across most National Savings instruments.
