An important meeting was held at the CDA Headquarters on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
The meeting was attended by the Member Admin, Member Planning, Member Engineering, Member Estate and senior officers of CDA, ICT and the DG Punjab Land and Revenue Authority (PLRA).
The DG PLRA gave a detailed briefing on the progress made so far in the project to comprise and digitize the estate management, land department and land records of CDA and ICT on modern lines so that the concerned should be preserved on long term basis which will help in streamline the properties and land records with more accuracy, transparently as per law.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that no effort should be spared in computerizing and digitizing the records of ICT and CDA, as computerization and digitization of land records will not only greatly assist the public in transferring, inheriting, buying and selling their properties in a shorter possible time but will also ensure that CDA and ICT’s land records and related files are fully secured and protected through proper scanning of files.
He mentioned that a paperless system is being introduced in CDA which will further enhance the efficiency of CDA officers/officials thus saving time and money spent on purchase of files and different kinds of papers for official use.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed the IT wing of CDA to provide full support to PLRA. He also instructed the CDA Estate Member to personally oversee the land computerization project of PLRA related to CDA to timely completion of project without fault thus resolving any issue promptly.
Earlier, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa paid a surprise visit to the CDA Nursery established on Park Road, Islamabad, where he reviewed the progress on the upgradation, rehabilitation and transformation of the CDA Nursery into a "Gardenia Hub."
On this occasion, the concerned officers briefed the Chairman CDA, apprising him that the CDA Nursery, spanning 50 acres is being developed at a cost of Rs. 652.819 million. The aim of this project is to convert the existing CDA Nursery into a model nursery with state of art facilities, enabling people to purchase plants and trees from CDA Nursery.
Chairman CDA stated that the Gardenia Hub project will be considered a major center for horticulture in the future. He said that under this project work on constructing modern and beautiful flower shops, along with a cafe, will begin soon. He added that state-of-the-art controlled and ventilated greenhouses will be built in this unique and naturally beautiful nursery and tissue propagation facilities will also be provided.
Chairman CDA further stated that space will also be allocated for showcasing colorful flowers in the nursery. He emphasized that the comprehensive design of this project reflects CDA’s commitment to enhancing green areas in Islamabad and promoting a culture of environmental sustainability.
He added that developing the nursery as a Gardenia Hub is another step toward making Islamabad a greener and beautiful. He said that CDA will also launch an App for facilitation of people to purchase their plants, flowers and trees on line through CDA App on much cheaper rates as compared to other nurseries.
