COAS Visits Pakistan Ordnance Factories Stall at IDEAS-2024, Briefed on Key Developments. During his visit to the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) stall at IDEAS-2024, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir was briefed by Lt Gen Tahir Hameed Shah, HI(M), Chairman of the POF Board, on the ongoing weapons and ammunition development projects, as well as the future plans of the organization.

COAS was informed about a significant contract signed between POF and Turkey's Repkon Machine & Tools. This partnership aims to boost Pakistan's ability to manufacture 155 mm artillery ammunition, a move that will enhance the nation's defense capabilities.

The contract was further solidified by Wah Industries Limited, a subsidiary of POF, which joined forces with Repkon Machine & Tools Industry to establish a state-of-the-art turnkey facility in Pakistan. This new facility will play a key role in ramping up the production of 155 mm artillery ammunition.

The event saw the participation of senior officials from both sides, including Mr. Bilal Durdalı, Deputy Minister of Turkey, and Lt. General Yaşar Kadıoğlu from TGS.
