The Meteorological Department forecasts persistent high temperatures and arid conditions across most regions today.

Yesterday, the nation experienced a peak temperature of 48°C. Notable readings included 42°C in Dalbandin and Jiwani, while Karachi, Hyderabad, and Bahawalpur registered 39°C. Lahore reported 36°C, Islamabad and Peshawar 37°C, Quetta 35°C, Multan 33°C, Muzaffarabad 31°C, and Gilgit 29°C.

Meteorological projections suggest potential precipitation in select locales within Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh later today or tonight.

Previously, on Friday, irregular showers across Sindh and Punjab, notably in Karachi, provided a relief from the prevailing heatwave.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz anticipates the formation of rain-bearing clouds near Karachi’s outskirts today or tomorrow, with predictions of above-average rainfall in numerous Sindh cities, including Karachi, for the current year.
