The Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme announced an extension of its registration from May 20 to June 1, 2025.
The extension opened up a new opportunity for students to leverage the scheme’s resources and enhance their digital literacy.
An official said that this scheme is part of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme and has been warmly welcomed by students all over the country.
With the new deadline, students who missed the chance earlier can now apply and take advantage of the program. The main goal is to encourage smart education and help young people grow through digital tools.
After the scheme was announced, a huge number of students applied, which caused a spike in website traffic.

As per government rules, students who are studying in recognized public universities can apply. They must be currently enrolled in PhD, MS/MPhil, Master’s, or Bachelor's programs and meet certain academic requirements.
They need a CGPA of 2.80 or at least 60% marks. First-year university students must submit their intermediate (HSSC) marks, while MS and PhD students in their first semester should provide the result of their previous degree.

The laptop distribution follows a quota system — 18% of laptops are set aside for students in Balochistan and 5% for students in distance learning programs.
Eligible students can apply through the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub (DYH) mobile app or by visiting the PM Youth Programme website at www.pmyp.gov.pk, which is now accepting applications.
