ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, accompanied by senior officials, conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing construction work at the Jinnah Avenue Interchange on Wednesday.
During his visit, Chairman Randhawa reviewed the development of the under-construction flyover bridge, road network, and other key infrastructure aimed at improving traffic flow in Islamabad. He also examined ongoing horticulture work, the installation of electric poles, and the placement of the national flag.
Project officials provided a briefing, confirming that all sections of the interchange are progressing as scheduled, with construction continuing round-the-clock to ensure timely completion. Asphalt work on surrounding roads is advancing rapidly, and the construction of a protected U-turn on 9th Avenue is also well underway.
The vital F-8 intersection is making steady progress, while work on the protected U-turn at the F-10 Roundabout is nearing completion and is expected to open for traffic by the end of the month.
Chairman Randhawa emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and enhancing the project area's visual appeal. He instructed officials to expedite landscaping efforts and ensure top-quality construction standards.
Highlighting the significance of the project, he stated, "The timely completion of this project is crucial to resolving the long-standing traffic issues in the city. It will provide citizens with signal-free travel facilities, significantly improving their daily commute."
The Jinnah Avenue Interchange is a major part of CDA’s initiative to modernize Islamabad’s road infrastructure. Once completed, it is expected to streamline traffic, reduce travel time, and enhance connectivity within the capital. The CDA team reaffirmed its commitment to completing the project on schedule with a strong focus on quality and sustainability.
