Health experts say that everyday lifestyle choices and dietary habits play a crucial role in mental as well as physical well-being, warning that unhealthy routines may significantly contribute to depression.

According to specialists, obesity is at the root of several chronic diseases, yet many people overlook the importance of a balanced diet for maintaining overall health. Instead, individuals often rely on easily available or processed foods, which can have long-term consequences for both body and mind.

Experts caution that constant eating and excessive consumption of unhealthy foods not only lead to physical illnesses but can also trigger mental stress and depression.

Studies suggest that depression rates among office and institutional workers may be alarmingly high, and individuals are encouraged to self-assess early signs of mental distress.

People suffering from depression commonly experience persistent sadness, sleep disturbances, loss of appetite, and difficulty concentrating.

While medication is frequently used to manage these symptoms, research shows that treatment should not rely on medicines alone. Improvements in environment, daily routines, and especially dietary habits can play a vital role in supporting mental health.

Research conducted at the University of Melbourne in Australia highlights that managing depression effectively requires understanding which foods to avoid and which to incorporate into daily meals. The study emphasizes that diet and brain health are closely interconnected.

Findings indicate that when the body receives nutritious and high-quality food, both brain and physical functions improve.

A report published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition notes that higher consumption of legumes, fish, fruits, and vegetables is associated with a reduced risk of depression.

Health professionals advise adopting a balanced diet alongside healthy daily habits as a key step toward improving mental well-being and reducing the risk of depression.
