Veterinary doctors successfully perform surgery of injured camel

SUKKUR: The medical report of the injured camel “Chandni,” whose jaw was broken and hind leg severed by assailants in Sukkur, has been released, confirming that a successful surgery has been carried out.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has received the report submitted by Secretary of Livestock Kazim Jatoi. According to the report, Chandni’s fractured jawbone has been repaired, while her right hind leg was surgically amputated.

The report further revealed that a team of expert veterinarians performed a three-hour-long surgery without significant blood loss. The surgical procedure was carried out by Dr. Javed Khuhso, Dr. Zulfiqar Otho, and Dr. Ali Gopan.

According to the Livestock Secretary, Chandni is now conscious, stable, and out of danger. The medical team is closely monitoring her recovery and providing round-the-clock post-operative care.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who has been actively following the case, praised the veterinary team for their efforts and instructed that Chandni’s treatment continue at the highest possible standard. He further directed officials to consult specialists to arrange for a prosthetic leg to aid her mobility during rehabilitation.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, while animal rights activists have demanded strict legal action against those responsible for the attack.
