SHC reinstates Dr Shahid Rasul as JPMC Executive Director

KARACHI: The Divisional Bench of Sindh High Court(SHC) on Friday reinstated Dr. Shahid Rasul, Executive Director of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).

The divisional bench of the Sindh High Court allowed the appeal against the suspension of the Executive Director of JPM Prof Dr Shahid Rasool, and annulled the decision of the single bench.

The Divisional Bench reinstated Dr Shahid Rasul as Executive Director JPMC.

In the written order, the court said that the Divisional Bench does not normally interfere with interim orders, but the Divisional Bench had to intervene to do justice.

The court order said that apparently the Sindh government makes appointments in JPMC and the federal government did not object to the appointments. The apparently these points were not presented before the single bench.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah congratulated Executive Director of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for being awarded an honorary degree in the UK for his outstanding performance in the field of surgery.

Prof. Dr. Shahid Rasool, the expert surgeon and executive director of Sindh’s largest government hospital, received an honorary degree from the Scottish Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

It may be noted that the membership and fellowship degrees of this institution are awarded based on examination performance.
