SHC issues stay-order on hiring of 251 employees through SPSC

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has stayed recruitments of 251 employees in grade 16 through Sindh Public Service Commission over violation college education department rules.

The court directed to keep 50 percent of the 125 posts vacant in the college education department.

The position of the petitioner adopted that according to the rules only 50 percent recruitment can be done in Grade 16 through Sindh Public Service Commission.

The Sindh High Court restrained the College and Education Department from recruiting 50 percent of Grade 16 posts through the SPSC.  The court issued notices to the Chief Secretary, Secretary College Education and others.

The petition has been filed by an employee of the college education department, in which the lawyer has taken the position that according to the rules of college education, 50 percent promotion and 50 percent recruitment will be through commission.

In the plea, the stand was adopted that the college education department has advertised 251 recruitments under the SPSC. All recruitments are being done through SPSC ignoring the rolls.
