ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People's Party(PPP) nominated senior leader and former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani as the Chairman Senate.
The notification of the nomination of Yusuf Raza Gilani has also been issued by the Chairman PPP Secretariat.
The notification states that Yusuf Raza Gilani will be the People's Party candidate for Senate Chairman.

Earlier, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rejected the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) candidate’s request for a vote recount in NA-266 (Kila Abdullah-Cum Chaman).
Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai emerged victorious from the NA-266 seat by securing 67,028 votes. JUI-F’s Salahuddin who finished runner-up with 58439 votes challenged Achackzai’s victory and requested for a vote recount.
The difference in votes between the successful candidate and the runner-up candidate is 8,589. Requests for re-verification of votes at 36 polling stations were also rejected.
