ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) has announced its support for Pakistan People's Party(PPP) leader Yusuf Raza Gilani in the Senate by-election.
The by-election for the 6 vacant seats of the Senate will be held on March 14.
Among the Senate seats that will be held, by-elections are the seats vacated by Yusuf Raza Gilani, Maulana Ghafoor Haidari, and Nisar Khuhro, while by-elections will also be held on the seats vacated by Jam Mehtab, Prince Ahmad Umar and Sarfaraz Bagti.
Senate by-election will be held on one seat of Islamabad, 2 seats of Sindh, and 3 seats of Balochistan.
In the Senate by-election to be held on March 14, members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will vote for Yusuf Gilani for the Islamabad seat.

Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari has decided, in view of the prevailing economic challenges, that he will not draw his presidential salary.
“He took this decision to encourage prudent financial management in the country. The President considered it essential not to burden the national exchequer and preferred to forgo his salary,” President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release on Tuesday.
