Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan’s powerful military leader, Field Marshal Asim Munir, have agreed to support a landmark Middle East peace agreement.
Trump made the remarks during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling it a "historic day for peace in the Middle East."
Trump expressed gratitude to Netanyahu for accepting the peace deal and stated that full support has been secured from countries across the Middle East. “The end of the Gaza war is just a small part of our broader vision for regional peace,” said Trump.
He revealed that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed his 20-point peace plan, and that the initiative also includes extending the Abraham Accords. “We’ve also reached an agreement with Netanyahu regarding Iran,” he added.

He praised Qatar’s Emir as an “exceptional leader” and emphasized that Arab and Muslim nations would take the lead in engaging with Hamas.
Trump issued a stern warning that if Hamas refuses the deal, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be free to act as he sees fit. The proposal reflects input from Arab, Islamic, and European allies and includes a timetable for Israel’s gradual withdrawal from Gaza. A transitional administration is to be established in Gaza under the oversight of an international peace council led by Trump himself, with former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair among its members.
The plan prioritizes the destruction of underground tunnels and the full demilitarization of Gaza, with Arab and Islamic countries pledging support for this effort. It also mandates the return of all living and deceased hostages within 72 hours. Trump concluded by criticizing certain countries for what he called the "foolish" recognition of a Palestinian state.
Trump concluded by thanking Netanyahu for approving the proposal, stating that it opens "a new chapter of prosperity for the region."
