Xiaomi, the world's second-largest smartphone maker, has entered the electric vehicle (EV) market with a splash by launching its new electric car, the SU7. It received an impressive 88,898 pre-orders within just 24 hours, marking a significant change in the EV industry.
The SU7 is priced competitively at 215,900 yuan ($29,870) for the standard model. It's gaining attention not only for its affordability but also for its stylish design, drawing comparisons to luxury sports cars like Porsche’s Taycan and Panamera.
Despite being new in the EV market, Xiaomi's SU7 has quickly caught the eye of consumers in China's competitive auto market. Due to high demand, potential buyers may face wait times of four to seven months for delivery, with the standard model taking 18-21 weeks and the Pro model possibly up to 30 weeks.
