The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has created the e-Bikes Portal for a government program offering 20,000 interest-free motorcycles to students in Punjab. Over 100,000 students have already registered through this portal.
Students from all over Punjab are using the e-Bikes Portal to sign up for the initiative. More than 16,000 online applications have been submitted, with 13,500 students requesting petrol bikes and 3,800 opting for e-bikes.
This program aims to help students access motorcycles easily through a down payment and monthly installment plan. The government will cover the interest on the down payment and monthly installments. To qualify, students must be regular attendees at government or private colleges/universities, aged 18 or older, and have a valid driver's license or learner's permit.
Initially, e-bikes will be given to students in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, and Rawalpindi, while petrol bikes will be distributed in other districts. The deadline to apply is April 29, and students can apply at bikes.punjab.gov.pk.
