Lahore Driving License Test Latest Update: Check Here

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Amara Athar has announced a major policy change in Lahore, making the driving license process more accessible for aspiring drivers.

Under the new policy, candidates who fail their driving license road test can now retake the test after just 15 days, a significant reduction from the previous 42-day waiting period.

This change aims to streamline the licensing process, providing greater convenience to candidates seeking their driving licenses. CTO Amara Athar highlighted that the 15-day retake facility, already available for the sign test, has now been extended to the road test as well.

Amendment to Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969

The new policy is part of an amendment to the Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969.

According to CTO Amara Athar, this amendment designed to save citizens valuable time and ensure a smoother, more efficient process for obtaining a driving license.

“Candidates who fail both the sign and road tests can now retake the test after 15 days,” CTO Amara Athar stated. This change expected to alleviate the frustration of long waiting periods that many candidates previously faced.

Maintaining Transparency and Merit

CTO Amara Athar emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency in the driving license process, noting that all test videos, including those for both road and sign tests, are recorded and securely stored.

This measure ensures that the system operates on merit, providing every candidate with a fair and unbiased chance. The recent changes to the driving license test process in Lahore are expected to be a welcome relief for candidates, making the journey to obtaining a driving license more user-friendly and efficient.
