US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation on Friday during which both leaders agreed to meet soon in Washington, according to official statements.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said Netanyahu congratulated President Trump on the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and emphasized the importance Israel places on its strong and strategic relationship with Washington.
The two leaders also discussed issues of mutual interest and agreed to schedule an early in-person meeting.
International media reports indicated that the call took place amid ongoing high-level communication between the United States and Israel regarding key regional developments, including Iran, Gaza, and broader Middle East security concerns.
Diplomatic sources suggested that the upcoming meeting is expected to focus on major regional priorities, including the Iran nuclear issue, the war in Gaza, efforts toward a ceasefire and hostage release, and strengthening bilateral defence cooperation.
The development comes after recent media speculation regarding tensions between Trump and Netanyahu. However, both sides have publicly dismissed such claims, reaffirming that communication and coordination between the two allies remain consistent and ongoing.
