Jerome Micheron, the director of Peugeot's Product Plan, revealed during a media call that the company aims to introduce ChatGPT as a pilot service in five countries—France, Britain, Germany, Italy, and Spain—starting on Wednesday. The pilot version is designed to seamlessly connect with vehicle controls and provide responses to a wide range of general and navigation-related queries. Peugeot anticipates making the ChatGPT service a standard feature across its vehicles later this year.
The move follows the trend set by other automakers, with Mercedes-Benz having initiated a trial in the United States last year, enabling drivers to engage in more natural conversations with their vehicles using ChatGPT. Volkswagen also recently announced plans to integrate ChatGPT into its voice assistant system by mid-year, aiming to facilitate interactive dialogues with drivers.
In addition to this technological leap, Peugeot is taking another step to encourage the transition to electric vehicles. The company disclosed its plans to introduce a new eight-year warranty for the e-3008, a significant extension compared to the current two-year warranty offered on its conventional cars. This warranty enhancement is part of Peugeot's strategy to incentivize more drivers to make the switch to electric vehicles, aligning with the industry's growing focus on sustainable and eco-friendly mobility solutions.
