To prevent bulk buying, retailers have started putting strict limits on how much customers can purchase. For instance, Micro Center has switched to spot pricing, and Framework has temporarily paused selling RAM separately.

Industry experts fear these high prices could continue into 2026, as manufacturers struggle to keep up. Brands like Asus and MSI are even turning to the spot market to secure limited stock.
Customers are being counseled to plan their purchases cautiously as the global shortage continues.
