Google and Apple are in a close race, each striving to surpass the other with their latest operating systems: Android 15 and iOS 18. Both are highly anticipated, but Android 15 introduces some features that give it an edge over iOS 18.
Security Features in Android 15
While Apple has long been associated with strong security, Android 15 is catching up with innovative AI-powered protections. These include Theft Detection Lock, Remote Lock, and Offline Device Lock, designed to counter malware, detect scams, and secure user data. These new security tools put Android 15 ahead of iOS 18 in this area.App Pairs on Android 15
A unique feature of Android 15 is the introduction of app pairs, allowing users to simultaneously open two apps, such as Gmail and Chrome, with a single tap. This multitasking capability enhances productivity and isn’t available on iOS 18, giving Android 15 an advantage for users who frequently use multiple apps at once.Recording One App at a Time
Android 15 also offers a new privacy feature, enabling users to screen record just one specific app, ensuring no other activity is captured or shared. Though iOS 18 introduces a Private Space feature for locking and hiding apps, Android 15’s app-specific recording feature gives it a significant advantage in privacy controls.Circle to Search on Android 15
Android 15’s Circle to Search feature is faster and more versatile than iOS 18’s version, which is tied to Google’s app. In particular, Android’s version includes advanced song identification, outperforming iOS’s Shazam shortcut. With these innovations, Android 15 stands out in areas like security, multitasking, and privacy, giving it an edge over iOS 18.
