Adobe has expanded its Firefly Video Model by introducing an artificial intelligence-powered video generator to enhance its creative applications. The Firefly Video Model aims to boost the capabilities of popular software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Express, and Premiere Pro.
"The usage of Firefly within our creative applications has seen massive adoption, and it’s been inspiring to see how the creative community has used it to push the boundaries of what’s possible," said Ely Greenfield, chief technology officer, digital media at Adobe. "We’re thrilled to bring creative professionals even more tools for ideation and creation, all designed to be commercially safe."
The first Generative Extend tool for Premiere Pro is now available in beta, allowing users to extend clips by up to two seconds at resolutions of 720p or 1080p at 24 FPS. Additionally, this tool enables users to enhance audio by extending sound effects by up to ten seconds.
Adobe is also launching two new video generation tools on the web: Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video. These features are currently accessible in a limited public beta within the Firefly web app.
According to Adobe, the Firefly Video Model is in limited public beta on its website, and interested users must join a waitlist to access the new tools, which are currently free during this period. The company plans to provide more details about Firefly's AI video generation features and pricing upon its official public launch.
This announcement follows Meta's recent unveiling of Movie Gen, an AI-powered tool designed to create realistic video clips. This tool will generate 16-second videos based on text prompts and will also be able to develop personalized AI videos using just a single photo.
