KARACHI: Fast bowler Naseem Shah sustained a knee injury during a match in HBL Pakistan Super League Season 11 against Islamabad United.

The incident occurred while fielding, forcing the Rawalpindiz pacer to leave the field after bowling just two overs. He did not return to complete his spell, raising concerns about his availability for upcoming matches.

According to the team’s media manager, Naseem suffered a blow to his knee during fielding. The medical team is currently assessing the extent of the injury, and a detailed update will be issued in due course.

In a related development, Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman is no longer available for the remainder of the tournament after his No Objection Certificate (NOC) was withdrawn.

Meanwhile, fellow Bangladesh player Nahid Rana has also returned home, leaving their franchise short of overseas bowling options.

On the other hand, after Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans have also secured qualification for the playoffs of the Pakistan Super League Season 11.

The top two teams on the points table have strengthened their positions, while competition for the remaining two playoff spots has intensified among the other franchises.

Multan Sultans have won 6 out of their 9 matches so far, earning 12 points and holding second place on the  points table. Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi remain unbeaten, dominating the position with 17 points from 9 matches.
