A meeting chaired by Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi on Friday reviewed preparations for the Champions Trophy 2025, set to begin next month. Officials confirmed that special facilities for citizens would be arranged, including parking areas and shuttle services to the stadium.
Comprehensive security measures will be implemented during the event, with relevant institutions already executing protocols. The stadium surroundings and access routes will be decorated to enhance the tournament's atmosphere.
Key officials, including representatives from the police, Rangers, and other agencies, attended the meeting and provided updates on security and logistical arrangements.
Additional Commissioner Ghulam Mehdi Shah, Deputy Commissioner East Abrar Jafar, Deputy Commissioner Malir Salimullah Odho, and Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Rabia Syed were present.
The Pakistan Cricket Board's General Manager of the National Stadium, Arshad Khan, shared details about the tournament schedule. The Champions Trophy will feature eight teams competing in 15 matches from February 19 to March 9 across Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Dubai venues.
Group A includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B features South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan, and England. Pakistan will host 10 matches, including the opening game between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi. Dubai will host four matches, including all three of India’s group-stage games and the first semi-final.
These arrangements aim to ensure spectators' smooth and enjoyable experience while maintaining high security standards for the international event.
