LAHORE: Hyderabad Kingsmen fast bowler Hunain Shah said every player strives to give their 100 percent on the field, following his impressive performance for Hyderabad Kings.
The final of PSL Season 11 will now be played on Sunday in Lahore between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Hunain Shah said he had complete belief in his plan, adding that his success was by the grace of Allah rather than personal brilliance.
He shared that his comeback after injury was challenging, as he spent the last six to seven months working hard with a clear focus on the Pakistan Super League.
He credited fellow pacer Naseem Shah for supporting him during difficult times and helping him handle pressure situations.
Talking about defending six runs in the final over, Hunain Shah said there was minimal discussion at the time, as his focus was on executing six yorkers with full faith and discipline, supported by a well-set field.
He also praised the passionate crowd, saying their presence always boosts players’ morale.
Islamabad United Captain Shadab Khan lauded Hunain Shah’s performance, calling his bowling outstanding throughout the league.
Hunain added that the coaches advised players to keep a clear mindset, emphasizing that every member of the team is a match-winner and they aim to carry this momentum into the final.
Earlier, Pakistan Super League Season 11 Eliminator 2 produced a nail-biting finish as Hyderabad Kingsmen defeated Islamabad United by just 2 runs to qualify for the final.
At the Gaddafi Stadium, Islamabad United won the toss and opted to field first.
Batting first, Hyderabad Kingsmen posted 186/5 in 20 overs. Usman Khan remained unbeaten with a fluent 61-run knock, while Captain Marnus Labuschagne contributed 39 runs. Saim Ayub added 38, and Kusal Perera scored 37 runs.
For Islamabad United, Imad Wasim picked up two wickets, while Chris Green, Richard Gleeson, and Faheem Ashraf claimed one wicket each.
In response, Islamabad United fell agonizingly short, managing 184/7 in their chase of 187 runs. Mark Chapman top-scored with 43, followed by Haider Ali with 31 and Devon Conway with 30 runs. Captain Shadab Khan made 22, while Chris Green added 21 runs.
Hyderabad’s bowling heroics came in the final over, where fast bowler Hunain Shah successfully defended just 6 runs, sealing a dramatic victory for his side.
He, along with Mohammad Ali, took two wickets each, while Hasan Khan, Saim Ayub, and Akeal Javed took one wicket apiece.
