Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, has now become the most victorious T20I captain in history, following his team’s win over Ireland in the second T20I in Dublin by seven wickets.

The 29-year-old celebrated his 45th victory as a captain, surpassing Brian Masaba of Uganda’s record, who had 44 victories in 56 matches.

Most T20I victories as a captain:

Babar Azam: 45 (78 matches)

Brian Masaba: 44 (56)

Asghar Afghan: 42 (52)

Eoin Morgan: 42 (72)

In the first T20I, Babar surpassed the record of former Australian captain Aaron Finch for the most matches captained. Babar has now led Pakistan in 78 matches, while Finch concluded his captaincy with 76 matches.

It’s worth noting that the performances of Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, and Azam Khan were instrumental in this achievement.
