Main Manto Nahi Hoon is one of the most popular dramas of the season, winning huge praise since its debut. The show marked the television comeback of Sanam Saeed and Humayun Saeed, and audiences have loved the powerful performances and gripping storyline.
Recently, actress Mira Sethi shared an interesting revelation about the drama during a public talk. She said that director Nadeem Baig, who had worked with her in Kuch Ankahi, offered her a role in Main Manto Nahi Hoon. The character was Miss Maria, who was later played by Sanam Saeed.
Mira admitted that it was a tempting offer, especially since she admired both Humayun Saeed and Sajal Aly. She also mentioned that she is very fond of Sajal, who played her sister in Kuch Ankahi, and her progressive friends encouraged her to accept the role.
However, Mira decided to turn it down. She explained that she could not align herself with writer Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s views on women. “How can I call myself a feminist and then sign a KRQ drama?” she said. For this reason, she chose to reject the offer despite its appeal.
