According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are moving into central and southern Pakistan, with these conditions likely affecting the upper regions of the country tonight.
As a result, monsoon rains and gusty winds are anticipated in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, and Faisalabad on Monday night. Heavy rainfall may occur in Murree, Galliyat, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, and Hafizabad.
On Tuesday, intermittent monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sahiwal, Chiniot, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan. Heavy falls are also likely in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and Hafizabad.
Widespread rainfall could lead to flash flooding in local streams and nullahs in areas such as Dera Ghazi Khan, Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, and Gujrat. Additionally, heavy downpours might cause urban flooding in low-lying parts of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan. Landslides could also disrupt traffic in the hilly regions of Murree and Galliyat.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 34-36°C on Tuesday and 33-35°C on Wednesday.
Over the past 24 hours, rain accompanied by wind and thundershowers has been reported in various parts of Punjab.
