The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Egypt are set to visit Islamabad from March 29 to 30 at the invitation of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, in an effort to ease regional tensions amid the ongoing US-Israeli conflict with Iran.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on X that Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Hakan Fidan of Turkiye, and Dr. Badr Abdelatty of Egypt will hold “in-depth discussions on a range of issues, including efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.” The visiting officials will also meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The ministry emphasized that “Pakistan highly values its relations with the brotherly countries of Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt,” adding that the visit will offer an opportunity to “further strengthen cooperation and coordination across multiple areas of mutual interest.”
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan noted that the meeting aims to establish a de-escalation mechanism. “We will discuss the direction of negotiations in this war, evaluate the situation from the perspectives of the four countries, and explore possible steps forward,” he told broadcaster A Haber on Friday.

The four nations have been actively involved in mediating between Washington and Tehran following the US-Israeli conflict that began on February 28. All are particularly concerned about potential threats to energy supplies and trade routes.
