Pakistan has strongly condemned the Israeli parliament's move to assert "sovereignty" over the occupied West Bank, calling it an illegal and provocative act that violates international law.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan expressed deep concern over the development, labeling it a serious breach of international legal norms. “This move is yet another reflection of Israel’s ongoing disregard for Palestinian rights and repeated violations of international principles,” he stated.
The Foreign Office warned that such unilateral actions are designed to entrench the illegal occupation and undermine efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region. “These provocations only serve to destabilize the region and derail the prospects for a fair and sustainable resolution to the conflict,” the spokesperson added.
Pakistan called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions and to reject any moves that violate United Nations Security Council resolutions and international humanitarian law.
Reaffirming its unwavering support for the Palestinian people, Pakistan reiterated its stance in favor of the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
