A cold wave is expected to impact various cities in Sindh, including Karachi, starting from January 24.
The temperature in Karachi could drop to single digits during the final week of the month, according to a weather analyst.
The analyst mentioned that cold westerly winds will affect the country from Saturday, bringing the possibility of rainfall in several regions and snowfall in mountainous areas. These winds are expected to persist until January 23.
As a result of this weather system, cities such as Sukkur, Jacobabad, and Larkana in Sindh will likely experience moderate rain from January 21 to 23, while other parts of the country may remain cloudy.
Previously, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned that Karachi could experience strong winds on Saturday (today), with the weather expected to remain dry and cool for the next 24 hours. The winds, blowing from the northeast, will have a speed of 15 km/h.
Additionally, the PMD had forecast strong winds across northern areas of the country along with rain and snowfall in mountainous regions from January 18 to 20. Karachi has been experiencing intermittent gusts of wind for the past week.
