Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza paid farewell visit to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
According to the Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir paid tribute to General Sahir Shamshad Mirza for his military services, leadership skills, and valuable efforts for the defense of the country.
According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Asim Munir said that General Sahir Shamshad Mirza not only promoted strong coordination among the three armed forces but also played a central role in enhancing joint operational readiness and achieving important national security goals.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also appreciated General Sahir Shamshad's role in strengthening regional peace, military diplomacy, and strategic cooperation with friendly countries.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza thanked the Army Chief and the entire armed forces for the support received during his tenure.
Before the farewell meeting, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza visited the Martyrs’ Memorial at GHQ and laid wreaths, while a well-dressed contingent of the Pakistan Army presented him with a guard of honor.
