Abdul El-Sayed (D):

Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed is an American epidemiologist, public health administrator, academic and politician who is the Democratic nominee in the 2026 United States Senate election in Michigan. A progressive Democrat, El-Sayed defeated U.S. representative Haley Stevens in the 2026 Michigan Democratic Senate primary. He faces Republican nominee Mike Rogers in the general election. If elected, El-Sayed would be the first Muslim member of the U.S. Senate.

Mike Rogers (R):

Mike Rogers is a former U.S. Representative from Michigan's 8th Congressional District, where he served from 2001 to 2015. Prior to his time in Congress, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army, a Special Agent for the FBI, and a Michigan State Senator. He is best known for his work in national security and foreign affairs, having chaired the House Intelligence Committee from 2011 to 2015.
