- WhatsApp is adding a voice message transcription feature.
- WABetaInfo spotted the feature in the latest WhatsApp beta versions for iOS and Android.
- The feature allows converting voice messages into text, saving time for users.
The trusted WABetaInfo team has once again identified the feature in the latest beta versions of WhatsApp for both iOS and Android. This development is beneficial for users on both platforms, considering that new features can sometimes take time to roll out across different operating systems.
As anticipated, this feature enables the conversion of voice messages into text, offering a time-saving benefit for many users. It addresses the common scenario of receiving lengthy voice messages, potentially longer than phone calls, and provides the convenience of reading them as text. Additionally, it proves useful in noisy environments where listening to voice messages may be challenging, such as when playing music on your phone.
According to a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will download 150 MB of app data to support transcripts. The app specifies that it will utilize your device's speech-recognition capabilities for this feature, ensuring end-to-end encryption.
