KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to shift the Karachi and Larkana matric boards to solar energy to ensure uninterrupted power supply amid the ongoing electricity crisis.
Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards Ismail Rahoo said that the transition to solar power will help both education boards continue examination and administrative operations without disruption.
He added that the Universities and Boards Department has also introduced legal and policy reforms to improve efficiency and governance within the department.
on the other hand, The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced a revised grading formula for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examinations.
According to a notification issued by the Board, the new grading system will be implemented in phases beginning with the First Annual Examinations 2026 for SSC-I and HSSC-I students, and extending to SSC-II and HSSC-II from the First Annual Examinations 2027.
Under the new scheme, students achieving between 96% and 100% will be awarded an A++ grade labeled as “Extraordinary”, while those securing 91% to 95% will receive an A+ (“Exceptional”) grade. An A (“Outstanding”) grade will be given for marks ranging from 86% to 90%.
The grading system is categorized into several bands based on percentage scores. A score between 81% and 85% is rated as B++, which denotes “Excellent” performance. Scores ranging from 76% to 80% fall under B+, labeled as “Very Good.” The B grade, meaning “Good,” applies to scores between 71% and 75%. For scores from 61% to 70%, the grade is C+, described as “Fairly Good.”
