KARACHI: Sindh Home Department has imposed Section 144 from 1st Muharram to 10th Muharram in the province.
The Provincial Home Department has imposed Section 144 throughout the province during Muharram, the notification of which has also been issued.
According to the notification, taking out processions and rallies without permission will be prohibited during Muharram and the ban will be applied from 1st Muharram to 10th Muharram, while pillion riding of motorcycles will be prohibited on 9th and 10th Muharram.
However, the ban shall not be applicable on women, children below the age of 12 years, senior citizens, differently abled persons, journalists, personnel of law enforcement agencies and private security agencies in uniform, and employees of essential services.
The Home Department said that during Muharram, display of weapons and flying of drones will also be banned.

Earlier, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced a nationwide bank holiday on Friday, July 1, 2024 to mark the start of the new financial year.
According to a statement from the SBP, the central bank will be closed for public dealings on this day. Additionally, all banks, development financial institutions, and microfinance banks will also be closed to the public, allowing them to finalize their accounts for the previous financial year.
