The government has recently announced a whopping increase in the urgent fee for passports. As of May 2024, the urgent fee for a standard 36-page passport for 5 years has been fixed at Rs7,500 from the previous Rs5,000.The urgent fee for a 36-page passport with a 10-year validity period has been raised to Rs11,200.

The urgent fee for a 72-page passport valid for 5 years is now Rs 13,500. For a 100-page passport with a 10-year validity period, the new urgent fee has been increased to Rs20,200.
