Indian nationals commit highest sexual offences in UK

LONDON: Indian nationals have emerged at the top among foreign offenders convicted of sex crimes in the United Kingdom(UK), according to a new report by the Think Tank Centre for Migration Control.

The report revealed that convictions of Indian citizens for sexual offences recorded a sharp rise of 257 percent between 2021 and 2024.

According to the report, the number of Indian citizens convicted for such offences rose from 28 in 2021 to 100 in 2024, marking a 257 percent increase.

Following Indians, the highest number of convictions were recorded among nationals from Nigeria, Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.

Earleir, National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has summoned several high-profile YouTubers and social media influencers in connection with a major financial scam involving illegal online trading and gambling platforms.

Those summoned include Mudassar Hassan, Muhammad Anas Ali, Iqra Kanwal, and Muhammad Husnain Shah, all of whom have been ordered to appear in person at the NCCIA Lahore office on September 2, 2025.

According to investigators, the influencers played a key role in promoting unregulated betting and trading apps—allegedly luring thousands of young Pakistanis into high-risk financial traps under the guise of investment opportunities. Authorities claim the group helped glamorize the platforms through coordinated social media campaigns, misleading followers and legitimizing illegal operations.
