Rahim Yar Khan : At least five police personnel were martyred and two others injured in an armed attack on a police checkpost in the Sheikhani, Sadiqabad area of Rahim Yar Khan.
According to police officials, heavily armed assailants launched an attack on the Sheikhani checkpost late Thursday night, resulting in the martyrdom of five officers and injuries to two others.
A police spokesperson confirmed that one of the attackers was killed in the exchange of fire. Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to apprehend the remaining suspects.
According to police, the martyrs include Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Saleem and Mohammad Khalil, Constable Nakhil, Ghazanfar Abbas.
The spokesman said that the two martyred personnel belonged to Rahim Yar Khan while 3 were from Bahawalnagar.
