PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) crackdown against government offices for non-payment of electricity arrears is underway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to FIA, the electricity of 12 government offices has been cut off during a week, including anti-corruption, Afghan Commissionerate, and DG Excise offices, while the power of Public Health Department and Workers' Women's Hostel has also been cut off.
According to FIA, the electricity of the Forensic Science Laboratory and Public Food Laboratory has also been disconnected.
According to FIA, the DG Excise office has arrears of more than Rs 1.3 million, while the Anti-Corruption Office and Forensic Science Laboratory have over Rs 0.7 million in arrears, in addition to workers' women's hostel and the Afghan Commissionerate. There are arrears of more than Rs.0.6million.
According to FIA officials, electricity is being restored to the offices from which arrears are being collected.

Earlier, Overbilling matter between Lahore Electric Supply Company(LESCO) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been settled.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) LESCO Shahid Haider and Director FIA Sarfaraz Khan Virk resolved the matter under which LESCO management will phase out the overbilling in 3 months.
Officials said that in three months all pending connections will be made and defective meters will be replaced.
