National Savings, also known as Qaumai Bachat Bank, has uplifted the profit rates for Behbood Savings Certificates, initially introduced in 2003 to aid widows and the elderly.

These certificates offer monthly profits at reasonable rates, serving as a financial lifeline for those facing hardships.

Increase in Profit Rates

The government has raised the profit rates for Behbood Certificates for the fourth consecutive time, now standing at 15.60% effective from March 19, 2024.

Originally catering to widows and the elderly, the scheme was extended in 2004 to include disabled individuals and special minors through their guardians.

Investment Details

Behbood Savings Certificates are available in various denominations ranging from Rs5,000 to Rs1,000,000. Profit is disbursed monthly from the date of purchase, ensuring a steady income for certificate holders.

Who can invest in these certificates? They are open to senior citizens aged sixty or above, single widows, joint investors, and disabled individuals holding NICs with a Disability logo.

The minimum investment limit is Rs5,000, with single investors allowed to invest up to Rs7.5 million and joint investors up to Rs15 million.

This increase in profit rates demonstrates the government's dedication to supporting vulnerable groups and providing them with financial stability.

With the new rate of 15.6% or Rs1,300 per Rs100,000, Behbood Savings Certificates continue to be an attractive investment avenue for those seeking reliable returns.
