Saudi Arabia’s budget airline, Flyadeal, has officially launched its flight operations in Pakistan, marking a significant milestone in air connectivity between the two nations. The airline’s inaugural flight, F3 166, landed in Karachi from Saudi Arabia on Saturday, receiving a traditional water cannon salute at Jinnah International Airport.
Flyadeal Expands in Pakistan
A subsidiary of Saudia, Flyadeal is renowned for its affordable and efficient air travel services. With Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approving its operations in November 2024, the airline is initially introducing flights between Riyadh and Karachi, with future plans to expand routes linking Karachi, Riyadh, and Jeddah.Flyadeal’s entry offers greater travel options for Pakistanis, particularly those traveling for business, tourism, and religious pilgrimages such as Hajj and Umrah. The airline's presence is expected to enhance competition, potentially lowering fares and improving services.
Saudi Arabia’s Growing Aviation Sector
Flyadeal’s launch in Pakistan aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which focuses on expanding the country’s aviation sector. The Kingdom is investing in new aircraft, increased seating capacity, and global connectivity. Saudia, the national carrier, continues to maintain its reputation for punctuality, with an 88.12% on-time arrival rate as per Cirium’s July 2024 report.With 103 new aircraft joining its fleet, Saudi Arabia aims to solidify its position in the global aviation industry while offering seamless connections through its SkyTeam alliance membership.
