The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, confirmed on Sunday that talented batter Saim Ayub will be sent to London for immediate medical treatment.
This decision comes after consultations with medical experts to ensure Ayub's injury is properly diagnosed and treated.
Naqvi personally reached out to Ayub to check on his condition and wished him a speedy recovery. He emphasized the importance of providing Ayub with the best care, highlighting that the young cricketer would be examined by top orthopaedic specialists in London. An appointment has already been arranged at one of the leading hospitals for the best possible treatment.
Dr. Mamreze, who has been managing Ayub's treatment in Pakistan, has sent his medical reports to London for further evaluation. Naqvi praised Ayub’s dedication and reassured that the PCB would provide all necessary resources to support his recovery.
"Saim Ayub is a stylish and outstanding batter, and an asset to Pakistan cricket," Naqvi said. "We are doing everything possible to ensure his full recovery. He will be sent on the next available flight from Cape Town to London, with Assistant Coach Azhar Mahmood accompanying him to ensure his well-being."
The injury occurred during fielding on the opening day of the second men's cricket Test against South Africa at Newlands on Friday.
