Imad Wasim, an all-rounder, and Mohammad Amir, a fast bowler, have been invited to the camp after recently reversing their retirement decisions. Usman Khan, a standout performer from PSL 9, is also on the list.
The camp is scheduled to start on March 26 and end on April 8, with players expected to arrive later today.
“The camp, organised in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, is strategically designed to prepare the players for the upcoming series and tournaments, including the home T20I series against New Zealand, the away T20I series against Ireland and England, and the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup in USA and West Indies,” was stated in a press release by the PCB.
“The camp will focus on team building and aims to enhance the physical and mental strength of the players, ensuring they are in the best condition to face the challenges ahead.
“Under the guidance of experienced trainers and coaches, the players will undergo a comprehensive training regime tailored to elevate their fitness levels, agility, leadership and strategic thinking and overall performance on the field.”
It’s important to note that the Pakistan team is currently without a coaching staff. However, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi assured on Sunday that the board is addressing this issue. He revealed that the PCB is in the final stages of forming a proper panel for the coaches.
Naqvi further stated that the national team will have both local and international coaches, and the final decision will be made in the next four to five days.
