In a recent podcast appearance, Waris Baig shared his views on the credibility of Coke Studio, as well as his thoughts on Chahat Fateh Ali Khan and former cricketer Wasim Akram.
Talking about Coke Studio, Waris Baig said, "I haven’t gotten any offer from Coke Studio, I don’t know the reason behind this but I think that they didn’t consider me because I produce original music and Coke Studio’s pattern is to redo the old songs. All they have been doing is collecting the old folk tunes and songs and are covering those songs, Coke Studio has not produced any song in these years, Pasoori came after 15 years, this year’s coke Studio was a flop. It has become a joke studio. As a singer, I haven’t sung any cover songs by choice, I only gave one tribute, I sang Jaan E Baharan and it was appreciated a lot by the fans".
Speaking about turning Chahat Fateh Ali Khan into a star, Baig said, "What can we say, people hear him too. Now, we have seen a reel of Wasim Akram, he has made a reel on a bad singer, it is alarming, he could make a video on Noor Jahan’s song. You guys are promoting things like that. It’s like we start appreciating an unprofessional bowler instead of a seasoned bowler like Wasim Akram and see his confidence he has associated Fateh Ali Khan with his name, just be Chahat".
