Noor Bukhari Criticizes Celebrities for Vacationing During Muharram

  • Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar, is revered by Muslims worldwide.
  • The month is especially solemn due to the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain.
  • Noor Bukhari criticizes celebrities for not respecting the sanctity of Muharram.
Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar, holds significant religious importance. Muslims worldwide observe Muharram with deep respect, practicing empathy and expressing sorrow for the lives lost in the Battle of Karbala. This month is especially solemn due to the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A.), the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and many of his family members and companions.

In keeping with the month’s reverent nature, Muslims typically avoid celebrations and gatherings. However, several Pakistani celebrities have recently posted pictures of themselves at parties and on vacations, sparking controversy. Among them are Fatima Effendi, Nida Yasir, Humayun Saeed, Yumna Zaidi, Sonya Hussyn, and Sarwat Gillani.

Actress Noor Bukhari, known for her outspoken views, has once again criticized these celebrities for not respecting the sanctity of Muharram. She highlighted the insensitivity of enjoying vacations and parties during a time meant for mourning and reflection. Noor Bukhari’s comments have reignited the debate about public figures' roles in observing religious and cultural norms.

She wrote, “Wah Umati. It’s so sad to see someenjoying vacation and parting and some mourning for imam Hussain a.s shows who is on yazeedi lashkar and who is in hussaini. Simple !”
