Rain-wind/thunderstorms are forecasted for Lahore and various regions of Punjab on Thursday and Friday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air is currently prevalent over most parts of Pakistan, with a shallow westerly expected to enter the upper regions of the country on Thursday.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in isolated locations such as Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Talagang, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Okara, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Narowal, and Gujranwala on Thursday and Friday. Isolated rain and gusty winds are also anticipated in Dera Ghazi Khan, Taunsa, Layyah, and Rajanpur during the evening or night. Very hot weather is expected in other districts of the province.
Lahore's maximum temperatures are predicted to be between 43-45°C on Thursday and Friday.
Over the last 24 hours, hot and dry conditions prevailed in Lahore and most districts of the province, with extremely hot weather in the plains, where temperatures were 2 to 4°C above normal.
Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, and Dera Ghazi Khan recorded the highest temperatures in the province at 48°C. Sargodha, Okara, Kasur, and Kot Addu recorded maximum temperatures of 47°C, while Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Mandi Bahauddin, Faisalabad, Jhang, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Rahimyar Khan, and Khanpur recorded 46°C.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature reached 44°C, with relative humidity in the evening at 17 percent.
