The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rains, gusty winds, and isolated hailstorms in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several other regions of the country on Friday night due to a prevailing westerly weather system over northern Pakistan. This weather pattern is expected to last for the next 12 to 18 hours.
Affected areas include the twin cities, the Potohar region, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
However, conditions are expected to shift by the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, mainly hot and dry weather is predicted for most parts of the country, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 31°C and 33°C on Saturday, rising to 33°C to 35°C on Sunday. Similar temperatures are forecast for Rawalpindi.
Over the past 24 hours, dry and hot weather prevailed across much of the country’s plains, though isolated rain and winds were reported in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and southern Balochistan.

Mohenjo-Daro, Padidan, and Nawabshah were the hottest locations in Pakistan on Friday, with the mercury soaring to 44°C. Close behind were Dadu and Larkana, where the maximum temperature reached 43°C.
In the capital, Islamabad, the temperature peaked at 35°C, with relative humidity in the evening recorded at 60 percent. Rawalpindi saw a high of 34°C, and evening humidity stood at 55 percent.
The hot conditions are expected to continue over the weekend in many parts of the country.
