Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that negotiations regarding the November 24 protest will only be possible if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder is released.
Speaking to a private TV channel following his visit to meet Khan at Adiala Jail, Gandapur reiterated his determination to secure Khan’s freedom and meet all related demands on November 24.
He emphasized the urgency of PTI’s mission, invoking the slogan, “If not now, then when? If not us, then who?” Gandapur urged the nation to choose between confronting injustice or continuing under oppression, stating, “Our leader fights not just for us but for the future of our generations. We will not abandon him.” He added that PTI’s ideology fuels their passion, which only grows stronger with time.
Separately, senior PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan expressed optimism about Imran Khan’s release, referencing a significant ruling by the Islamabad High Court (IHC). Earlier, the IHC granted bail to Khan in the Toshakhana-II case, requiring two surety bonds of Rs. 1 million each.
On November 14, a Special Central Court rejected acquittal pleas filed by Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the same case. Judge Shah Rukh Arjumand announced the decision, further complicating their legal challenges. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has since filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against Bushra Bibi’s bail, claiming it violates Supreme Court guidelines and asserting her involvement in the Toshakhana-II case alongside her husband.
It is noteworthy that on July 13, both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were arrested in a new National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference related to Toshakhana, just hours after their acquittal in the Iddat case.
